Free Injury Consult

Sometimes when an injury occurs, you just don't know what to do or where to start.  With over 13 years of experience navigating the medical world and treating all types of injuries and pains, we have the expertise to help guide you so you don't waste time and money.

Determining 3 Basic Paths

 Home Management

Some things just need a little bit of a wait-and-see approach with some small, easy things that can be done at home.  We'll give you that direction for free.  No strings attached.

Physical Therapy

If your problem is appropriate for physical therapy interventions, we can set you up for treatment with our team, or refer you to a local, trusted provider that takes insurance.

Physician Referral

If you need referral to another specialty, we will help guide you as to wear to go and why.  If you're local in AZ, we can give you recommendations of who's best for your specific issue.

Return To Play

Returning an athlete to their sport after an injury can have many pitfalls.  Most physical therapy clinics are not equipped to adequately handle this transition and insurance companies do not cover this transition.
To get the best results during this transition, an athlete should be monitored by both a physical therapist and strength & conditioning specialist to determine readiness to safely return.
Our team will assess your range of motion, strength, force production, injury history and severity, any needed bracing, as well as specific movement patterns needed in your sport.

Sports Injuries

With having experience treating athletes at all levels, we know how to get you back to optimal performance as fast as possible, not only with the goal of getting you back to your pre-injury level of function, but also reducing your risk of re-injury.

Advanced testing

We use VALD systems to test our patients because we don't want to guess when it comes to your health.

VALD's systems give us accurate, fast insights into strength, range of motion, force production, power, balance, symmetry, and movement quality to give us advanced information about your body to help guide our decisions in treatment. These insights can't be seen with the naked eye.  They can only be assessed with the most advanced systems.

Most athletes think they are ready to return to play way before their bodies are fully recovered.  Lingering asymmetries in strength and motion put the athlete at risk of reinjury.  We use testing that is normally only available to the most elite athletes in the world.

Frequently asked questions

Do you take insurance?

VINNA Human Performance is an out-of-network provider, meaning that we do not accept insurance.  The current PT reimbursement rates and regulations don't allow for adequate treatment.  In the current Physical Therapy environment, PT's are being pushed to see more patients per hour, meaning that the patient gets less of their attention and more of the treatment time is spent with assistant staff.  By going out of the insurance model, we can spend all of our time and energy on treating you and not on figuring out how to get paid for it by jumping through insurance hoops.

Many insurance plans require prior authorization and referrals from a physician to be seen.  The law doesn't require this, though.  You should have direct and unrestricted access to your PT to get the treatment you need when you need it.  No need to wait for authorization or have you see a provider that can refer you for imaging and testing that you don't need.

We will provide you a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for out of network reimbursement if you have out of network benefits.  Cash payments will still be required at the time of service.  You can still use HSA and FSA benefits to pay for our services.

Accessibility

You'll have access to message your PT at any time using our patient app.

Our Full and Undivided Attention

Treatment is one-on-one with your provider.  No techs or assistants.  No other patients being seen at the same time, taking some of our attention.

Experience

Dr. Palmer has more than 12 years of experience ranging from orthopedics, to collegiate and professional sports, to complex pain management cases.  For years surgeons referred their most difficult cases to him when traditional PT had failed and a different treatment approach was needed.

Unparalleled Testing

We use VALD systems to test many different strength and ROM metrics to get the most accurate and in-depth information on what's going on with your condition.  You'll be amazed at what these systems can show us and how they guide our treatment.

Progression Options

We have several progression options when formal PT is done and you're ready to get back to sport or other activity.  We have in-house strength & conditioning coaches who can program ongoing fitness programs for you with any guidance that is still needed from your PT.  Whether you want in-person training or mobile programs that guide your workouts, we got you covered.
